About Jorge Lizalde & Studio Canal
Jorge Lizalde is an artist that works mainly with photography, moving image and projection mapping or video installation.
He has been working as Freelance at Studiocano.co.uk which he owns, but also been involved and collaborating in projects that have helped him to be part of the artistic Cardiff community as well as exposed widely his own Art work. Such as theatre productions as video designer and technical creative – projection and video mapping – but also has exhibited his own work at g39, Ffotogallery and Mostyn.
Studio Cano was founded in 2009 when Jorge moved to Cardiff. During this time the company evolved in many ways, always helping companies to find the technology solutions that fit their concept, briefs or artistic purposes. From simple and basic photography and video services to a more complicated AV projection tech and design from art concept to execution. They have built mapped projections for theatre sets primarily, for example a 360 projection set up with 4 projections and eleven screens around the studio space at Curve Theatre in Leicester.
Most recently the company has quickly adapted to Covid restrictions helping too to present performances, conference and talks on stream or video call services. On making them with the technology available at the moment more immerse and inclusive by offering better integration of video cueing presentation, captioning and BSL interpreter integration on the speaker or main window.
