Invisible Disability & Identity – An Afternoon of Poetry and Discussion with Chanje Kunda
Join us on Thursday 1st April at 4pm for a shared screening of Chanje’s visual poem Kintsugi Gold, followed by a discussion with Chanje about personal & community identity with an invisible disability.
Kintsugi Gold is a short film that premiered at the Dadafest International Festival 2020. The film artistically combined performance art and poetic language to create a mesmerising piece of digital art, exploring how it feels to be broken inside. Using my body as a canvas, painting cracks and fractures on my face and body in gold, was an artistic arrangement that makes brokenness look beautiful. I also explored linguistic concepts around brokenness. ‘… clouds break. Why can’t I?’

About Chanje Kunda
Chanje Kunda is a poet, playwright and performance artist. She creates autobiographically inspired art that explores how the personal interlinks with the universal, and the political. Her work explores 21st century life, and aims to use art as a tool to transform lives, shift consciousness and also bring joy to an otherwise serious and stressful modern existence. She predominately works as a solo artist in performance, across the literary, theatrical and live art sectors. She is a life long lover of the arts.
